How to create a FAV icon

What IS a fav icon? It's a littul (16X16 pixel) pikchur that showz up to the left of the URL in the adress bar win yoo go to a site that has a fav icon set up. Fav icons help yer site stand owt among a longs list of Favorites or Bookmarks. Pritty neet, huh? Heer are sum tootorials on how to do it:

For some reason, my favicon shows up when I use Firefox, but not when I use IE. I cannot figure that one out!

Daisy, in IE 6 and older, a favicon might not show in the address bar unless you've bookmarked the link. Adding this to the <head> of your home page might help:
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="/favicon.ico">

also, make sure it is a true icon file and not a file named .ico
